I come from a family of engineers on both sides. My father is a Mechanical Engineer and my mother was a Designer working for Jaguar cars. Both of my grandfathers were also heavily involved in the car industries. I think they all wanted to become engineers because they were the best jobs available where they lived in the midlands.

I think the first engineer in my family was my great grandfather (he died long before I was born) who was another Mechanical engineer who worked on the land-speed record breaking car Babs in 1926. He also opened the first petrol station in Wales.
