• Question: what was it like fixing weapons

      I learned a great number of skill in my training to fix weapon systems; computer engineering, radar, sonar, control engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, design and technical drawing, skill of hand (soldering, welding, fitting, fabrication), diagnostic skills, communication systems, networks, fibre optics…
      The job itself was awesome – I specialised in surface to air missiles at first and got to fire them many times. As I grew in the role I got to look after more and more systems until I was running the whole weapons and sensors department.
      In short… it was amazing!!!
