There are 5 main stages of testing cameras which I shall summarise for you:

      1. We download and test the software on the camera, so this includes stuff like making sure the menus work.

      2. A lens is attached and we check to see whether the camera functions properly with it. The camera has to be able to focus on an image, distinguish colors etc.

      3. The audio capabilities of the camera is tested – whether it properly plays and records sound.

      4. We then check to see whether video storage and playback is working.

      5. And finally, we bash the camera around a bit and test all the dials and buttons. This is to make sure the camera will work in real life when the person using it moves it around.
