I chose to do engineering because it combined creativity, maths, science and hands on problem solving – all of which I love. It is the career for me. My mom really wanted me to become a doctor, and that did affect my choices when I was younger – it’s important to make sure you prioritise what makes YOU happy, not other people.

      Hi Farooq19,

When I was a kid, I was always interested in how things worked. I got into trouble for breaking up my toys to find out why they sang or spoke! And in high school, my favourite subjects where physics and maths. That’s why I choose to become an engineer and I’m glad I did! No one forced me to choose it. It’s important that you go after what you’re interested in.
